Sea Buckthorn is a hardy shrub with orange–yellow berries. In Uttarakhand, it is called Amesh, and in Himachal and Jammu & Kashmir, it is called Leh Barry. It was found above 10000 ft above Sea level in Uttarakhand and other Himalayan regions, including Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. It is a top superfood in the entire world. It is a good source of Vitamins (A, C , E, K), carotenoids and fatty acids. Even the seeds of Sea Buckthorn are a 38% protein source. DRDO ( Defence Research and Development Organisation) has conducted a research on Sea Buckthorn and said that it is the only fruit, that can fight against radiation very strongly.
